I think I am doing serious injustice to my blog by not updating it. It has been slightly more than a month and I guess it is only timely to do some updates now. haha.
Let me talk about the E-med posting that was concluded a while back. I did enjoy it because it was really a very different kind of exposure and you are really exposed to all kinds of illnesses first hand. The intensity of the posting can be quite tiring. Then again, I think we will benefit more if the posting is slightly longer and thus making it less intensive. What did I enjoy most about e-med? I guess I definitely did not enjoy the very disastrous end of posting test. I shall not mention about it again since is the new year coming. I think the most enjoyable thing about e-med is the style of teaching. No hard facts but just cases for you to ponder about and derive a proper diagnosis. The practical aspect of e-med is enriching but I wished I could do more. As for the interaction, it is really bare minimum behind the mask. I doubt the patients could even sense that we were actually smiling and giving them the reassurance behind that blue mask. I personally do think the people involved in the department made lots of personal sacrifices to be involved in such meaningful work.
Academics aside. I did not return to Macau/Hong Kong this year due to the sold-out air-tickets for Hongkong and overly priced tickets to Macau. Hence, I decided to stay in this tropical island for the year end. Strangely, the tropical island was pouring days after days and the temperature just dived downwards, there was actually the feeling of Christmas! I do not like rain personally because it disrupts routines. But I guess it is good to have disruptions once in a while for you experience something new but then again, not over a prolonged period of time. haha. Managed to meet up with my toudais for Dim Sum buffet, another group of friends for dinner buffer, family for Christmas buffet. All in all, I am very well fed this holiday season. I guess the most spectacular thing I did this holidays is caroling! I enjoyed every bits of it. All the mood of Christmas just came gushing to you! haha.
I have also started reading books from a Hong Kong based doctor-author, Dr Tony Mok. I think he has successfully taught me many lessons that is otherwise not learnt in the normal classroom. His pieces of writings are so real yet humorous. Every piece is a frank piece of work, and behind every piece is a story and a lesson to learn. Always touching, always inspiring! I hope he continue to write and continue to inspire people like me. I really do feel inspired! For those interested, the books are in Chinese and the titles are Yi Sheng Hui Ku and Zhen Xin Xing Yi. I thank ET for helping me buy the first book in HK. Otherwise, you can place an order with the local Japanese bookstore chain but you will have to wait 2-3 months before the books arrives.
As for movies update. Well, I think I have not watched any fantastic shows so far. My favourite will be a tie between Happy Feet and Night at the Musuem. I watched Borat today and it left me speechless in the negative way. I have not watched much movies somehow.
