Elated.

Just heard from the news that the health ministry is now looking into utlisation of medisave to be extended to 2 more chronic illnesses which include asthma and mental illnesses. I am really actually elated to hear that the ministry is currently looking into providing such scheme for these 2 groups of people as well. I really think more can be done to help people diagnosed with mental illness in terms of destigmatisation and increase of awareness. Now, perhaps, with the study on the medisave scheme, the financial part can be better handled. Seriously, the better medication for mental illness are really very expensive and even the slightly more well to do might not be even able to afford it. Given the fact that they usually need a long course of medication, medisave will come into good use. I heard from the President's address also that there are plans to study how we can utilise our housing assets better. Which in a way, allows more cash for issues such as healthcare.
