I was supposed to blog about my weekend during the weekends but because it was so therapeutic, I was totally immersed in the joyful atmosphere. haha...So how did THE weekend start?
Met the Tou Dais for lunch at Crystal Jade Palace. It was their first excursion and lunch experience at the palace. It is their compulsory module because they are now training to be formidable cantonese speakers and then they can enter the hallowed grounds of the Royal College of Cantonese Speakers and hopefully, they can become a fellow from there. Anyway, we planned for this since ages ago and it got delayed several times due to unforseen circumstances. At least, it happened. We had a very hearty meal that took 3 hours to complete. I am not exactly very sure why we took so long but I am glad they really enjoyed it and left with such happy smiles and a bloated stomach. And to E, please remember it is Gum Lou Heung Mong Dong. hahaha...Oh! We took tonnes of photos inside and outside the restaurant and acted like real tourists!
Then I met my Anat group for dinner and a movie. I am glad my anat group still tries to find time to meet each other and have a good time. Due to the horrid queues at all the restuarants at the Fountain of Wealth, we were just strolling and suddenly came across this Imperial Kitchen restaurant. We went in and were relieved to find out that the food was actually good! And we were really satisfied. Especially for the Teo-chew people, it gave them a special meaning as they embarked on the Yam paste dessert. It was my first taste of the dessert and I thought, it was nice too! haha! We also came out with great plans over the dinner table!
We watched Devil wears Prada. It was supposed to be a sneaky preview and the theatre was crowded. I had to sit along at the aisle because I was late in requesting to watch together. Fortunately the rest of the anat group was behind me giving me all the support (food! drinks!) whenever possible. The show was quite funny and there are parts that you just have to laugh. The plot was quite predictable but it was all good. I really wonder if the editor of our local magazine equivalent to that of "Runway" in the show do really get so much perks as well!
The weekend ends with Sunday. It was family dim-sum day and it was at the same restuarant as Saturday. I do not mind eating at the same place twice for the fact that dim-sum always give me a very nostalgic feeling and of course they are extremely delicious! The variety is also very good at the restaurant. So do pay a visit if you find the time.
Is always good to end the Sunday on the right note. So as usual, I went to church for the evening. It is always great to consolidate thoughts for the week and get enough inspiration to start the new week.
And so, my weekend went passed like that.
You might be thinking, the weekend mentioned is nothing really very fantastic and there were not much activities anyway! But the emotional fulfillment because of the company of family and friends is something even more! Of course, the food plays an important role as well. haha
