In recent news, we have heard much about the 2 year old girl who went missing by the name of Nonoi. Nonoi's body was found under Aljunied flyover and her stepfather has since been arrested.
Over in HK, a 10 year old boy was locked up in a suitcase by his parents at a moment of folly. The boy suffocated and his parents arrested.
What is the world becoming? I believe such tragedies are only the peak of an iceberg given the complications of the society these days.
Can you imagine how much the children would have struggled? Didn't the ruthless parents feel the pain? Feel the remorse?
These 2 are very tragic and saddening stories. Children are not meant to suffer, they are meant to enjoy their childhood under the love of their parents. And at the back of my head, I know that as I am typing this, many children all around the world are not getting the childhood they deserve.
The reason why I think I will never want to do Pediatrics is because I can't bear to see a child suffer. I know you cure the child after that but the suffering the child has to go through before and as he/she sees you day by day, is extremely upsetting.
I pray that these 2 children are with the heavenly father right now.
