I thought I will not blog frequently, but well..haha!
Did you happen to read the major english newspaper today? Nope, I am not talking about the TAF programme. More like the Review section, where one HK correspondent, shall call him VC here wrote about Macau. My hometown!
Totally impressed by the way he bring out Macau as not just a city with 15 casinos and counting. Rather, a melting pot of numerous European cultures and Chinese culture. Notice the Chapel of Penha Hill in the insert, it is just one of the many symbolic churches in the tiny enclave with a rich 450 years history. Incidentally, it was also the first place in the Far East to have Roman Catholic missionaries. The old world charm is not spoilt by World War 2 and most buildings are newly furnished. It might be interesting to note that next to the famous Ruins of St.Paul is actually a small Chinese temple with Portuguese cobble stones paved at its entrance! Not to mention the salivating fusion Macanese food!
By the way, if you find travelling too much a chore or might prefer a sampler. There is this newly opened cafe at Expo called Macau Express. They serve real authentic Macau desserts. Seriously, that is the one and only Macau eatery I have found here so far.
On a sidenote, the same school in the East called me for relief teaching tomorrow. But, I have got PDCP!
