MUNUS = Merry, United, Not giving up, Unique, Sporty. Alright, that is the theme that the Malaysians gave for the games 2005. Shall make use of the theme to round up why I love MUNUS! haha.
Merry: Set off at 2pm from Golden Mile. Glad to be able to make new friends on the bus. Managed to get to know Hb, Jem and Zy on this bus ride. Crapped and watched Resident evil. The rest of the journey was spent..um...sleeping. Even more friends was made throughout the 2.5 days, in fact, everyone in MUNUS managed to sort of know each other. Had the most fun with the Amusement Park Gang (Ye, Yc, A, V, Zk, E, D and myself) where we paid ringgits to scream and torture ourselves. Poor V, he was close to being crushed by me and E was nearly "swallowed" by Zk due to the merciless centrifugal force.....Learnt some malay too!
United: I must say that we were extremely united during the games. No airs (not water here) or anything, we just go about as one common entity. Even though we might not be doing as well, our joy is not dampened. Lots of us even went to catch a movie together! Sharing tonnes of taxis and losing our way then trying our lousy Malay to get back to Fakulti Perubatan or Kolej Anan!
Never giving up: Yah! We never gave up.
Unique: Malaysian hospitality is unique. They went all out to cater to all our nitty critty needs. From driving us during midnight to the Bangsar district to experience the Malysian nightlife (Note that while the rest went pubs, I went to my favourite nightspot, MacDonalds.), arranging teksis for us to go to shopping centres, making sure that they are contactable always to see if we need help in anyway. Even though only 3 of us wanted to take the Monorail, they were more than willing to take us there. Totally touched by their hospitality. Malaysia, Boleh!
Sporty: My game was tables tennis mixed doubles. Played with a new friend, Li. We were both amateurs and so it was more of fun than anything else. Well, I really like playing table tennis even though the ball fails to go over the net like 70% of the time! hahaha....Will improve!
As for photos, will put them up when I manage to get hold of them. It was really a wonderful experience that I will never regret. Friendships forged (NUS or UM) was even more valuable, or should i say priceless!
