Just when the NUS side has changed its 100 year old medical school to Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. HKU (Hong Kong University) has done the very same to its more than 100 years old medical school with two of its prominent alumni as Dr Yong Loo Lin himself and Dr Sun Yat Sen. Well, strangely, the donor donated 200 million Singapore dollars as well. Alright, so HKU Faculty of Medicine will be renamed Li Ka Shing School of Medicine, HKU. hmm...
Talking about Wax. House of Wax that is. I supposed it is an extraordinary horror movie without the haunted houses or the eerie supernaturals. The whole show deals with nothing but wax. 2 characters are simply redundant in the show and throughout the show, they were only involved in some lewd acts till the time they were killed by the killer. Alright, the rest of the 4 main characters at least, have stepped into the House of Wax.
I find the story rather interesting. If you have read the forums not too recently, there has been this rather big issue on the separation of Siamese twins. Here it is, in the movie, depicted a pair of Siamese twins being forced separated. One turned out okay, the other deformed. The parent made a wax mask for him such that he will look normal. Sadly, somehow along the way, he decided that everyone should be wax figures so that he can be one of them and lead a normal life. Really a question of Quality of life here.
On a lighter note, this show is not that scary actually but in all horror settings, I always do the same thing.
