Time to light up firecrackers.

Was told that Chinese New Year is in less than 10 days time when Lion City Inside Out (Shi Cheng Nei Wai), the 630 news on Ch8 blasted the speakers of the TV. Oh well! Chinese New Year has mostly been a rather silent affair for me since most of my relatives are not here. In fact, I do not have a single relative here except for my immediate family a.k.a my parents and my sister. So CNY is mostly spent with a small HK community here.

Have been asked quite often about preparations for CNY nowadays and I really have not been preparing. I guess people really see red during CNY. Not only are the decorations red, the money forked out is exorbitant such that you can see red as well. Hmm...one year once. Despite all the frantic buying, it is still a tradition that we should continue to uphold. Is in the name of peace, happiness and prosperity! Heritage, you see!

I still do miss having Chinese New Year at the transition between winter and spring.

That I must say is really Chinese New Year.

On the other hand, celebrating it under the auspice of a blazing hot sun is an experience too!

As for my weekends. I absolutely did nothing and is at peace with myself.

haha
