Alright, not that I have been to many BBQs for the year but the Class BBQ we had today was smashingly awesome. Though the turnout was kind of on the low side, the crowd was spontaneous enough for I see the BBQ pit swarming with interested people engaging in the cooking process.
Okay, wind back time first. Did my first ever shopping for food and equipment for a BBQ catering to a massive load of people. Thanks to BZ who was there to thrash out with me on whether we should buy Chicken Wings or Fillet, Black Pepper sauce or Teri Yaki, 100 plates or 50 plates and so on. The marketing and purchasing process was fun though a little tiring with momentous horror of a marked over-pricing. Not to mention that gloves were decided as important for we need to eat properly sanitised food to decrease later onset of hyper colonic motility. haha!
Nevermind about that, we managed to brave through the security as well as condescending eyes of the cashiers to push the trolley all the way to the Pit at East Coast Park. Along the way, we received finger pointing from runners and cyclists, even small little children were giving us the weird look! Yes, we pushed it back of course. National Education taught us to be responsible citizens!
The BBQ process was fun ranging from defrostation to marination to poking of 3 balls into sticks to the actual cooking. There is always an activity for everyone! I must say that this is the first time I am actively involved in a BBQ process and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Really! Oh, where is that setting the fire part right? Um, it was left to the experts for I cannot even light a fully automated lighter. The mingling with people part was superb as well and managed to made new friends with a treasurer, a friendly giant and the chief playmate. Glad that photos were taken to celebrate this BBQ for all food was finished even when there was extra exotic food from the deep blue sea - Stingray!
All in all it was unforgettable for I still stink with that BBQ smoke smell that I am trying to rid! Hopefuly I will not attract any flies!
Oh! Regretted that BZ and I retold the whole Shutter experience to the audience such that images are flashing back in my mind even at this hour plus there was new input of encounters of the other kind from people. um.....
