Had my first session of Physician Development Programme (PDP a.k.a Pretend Doctor Programme) today! Felt it was interesting and exciting enough. I mean it was the first time I got to walk around the corridors of the sacred grounds in formal clothings! Just like the elders do! And of course, it was not sleep inducing and I was surprised that 2 hours just past by in a flash! How I wish all other lessons could be like this, right?
The tutor we had was a very nice guy I must say. No air and full of patience. He was even willing to give us an extremely short tour round the building with his busy schedule awaiting him. Or maybe he was wanting to go home. But most importantly, he did NOT drill information into us!
So we saw three patients with the last being a hands on practice. I must say the place is extremely hot and I guess I can hardly get well in such conditions. And with tonnes of students and all other people working alike disturbing them by the minute. How to get well??!!! How to??!! Oh yah! I must say that the 3 patients we saw were not nasty ones that I heard could be lurking around (like in the TV shows) or were there any mad rush of any sort. It was peaceful overall.
And wish all the 3 patients we saw today a speedy recovery!
Yah, I realised that I was a wheelchair magnet. Everywhere I stand or walk, I seem to be blocking the traffic of wheelchairs and not forgetting that I always knock into people. Must be the surface area. Urgh!~ So I tasted my first displeasure from an attendant today! Glad she was tolerant enough not to throw the wheelchair at me or I will have to do another PDP instead - the Patient Development Programme.
Even so, I can't wait for the next session next year!!
Not to forget that the above scenario will only occur if I pass this coming breath taking-brainteasing-mind blowing-multiple-choice-with-a-wide- selection- of- true- or- false-or-ABCDE- and- occasional-additional- write- as- you- please kind of CA. It can't be that bad right? haha
