Have been thinking the past weeks whether I have made the right choice to step into the dungeon of latin words, enzymes and processes.
Have been wondering whether life could have been better if I was not courageous to take up my teenage dream and pursue Journalism instead.
Have been wondering what will life be like if I choose to quit and move on to something else.
But today, I can safely say goodbye to all these worries and I found back my motivation!
Met 2 of my friends whom I have not met for a very very long time today on Bus 95 after a painful experence with a dentist to be. Was on the train and as usual, I started whining about how I dislike mugging and how I feel that there is greener pasture over another side.
Then, I ranted and ranted until a point that I started to look back at the tedious journey I took to reach medical school. The yearly pilgrimage to search for schools that may offer triple science and the persistence in contiuing with Biology. Yes! I must have been suffering from dementia if I were to quit just like that!
That is not all.
Did a self PDP/PBL at home today when my father has fallen very very sick for the past week . Had a mental hypothesis cancelling and so on without the learning issues and came into conclusion that he might be down with Dengue Fever or some sort of Viral Fever.
Sent him to CGH. Warded. Initial Diagnosis is Viral Fever. I saw the tonnes of patients waiting to see the A & E doctor. I really wished I could help them but with just the basics of the very basics, I was helpless. The doctors were professional and very knowledgeable. That really made the patients felt at ease. Of course, the family members too! It is this amazing warmth that brought me into this faculty.
Suddenly, I see the purpose of it all and realised the persistance that I had to join the fraternity.
Suddenly, I realised I have not made the wrong choice.
Suddenly, I want to be a Chao Mugger for the sake of my future patients.
Suddenly, I have invited Snell, Guyton and Devlin back for tea.
