Finally! The long awaited day to see the doctor for my foot has arrived! As I was hoping to walk again, I packed in bag the right part of the pair of sandals I had. I was so determined that I could walk again! That both my feet could feel the ground together again. Unfortunately, NO!
Hmm...he saw the X-ray and felt that the bone had actually healed compared to the X-ray that was taken a month ago. However, as I still felt slight (very very very slight) pain when I tried to stand and walk, he decided to put me on cast for one more month! One more month will mean that I will have to bid farewell to the HKU Interview! I protested and insisted that I will see him in two weeks and no more bandages or cast or anything that is going to wrap my foot.
Well, then he patiently told me why he took such a stance. That the calcanuem bone is a major weight-bearing bone, and if it is not completely healed and you try to walk..... chances are, it will break again. And he asked me if I want to go to University in cructches and walk with a walking stick in old age.....hmm...scare tactic......he will also refer me to the orthopaedic surgeon who specialises on the foot for comments.... I obeyed and I agreed only to a 3 weeks cast. haha...and I managed to get a 2.5 weeks appointment in the end!
Hmm...hopefully, I can finally walk on 17th June.....I can't wait!!
By the way, I thought my foot looks kind of strange after not seeing it for so long....haha..
