Was at Buona Vista MRT station preparing to journey home today. Felt that I needed to to visit the gents and was stopped by two Chinese Mainland women. One asked for my phonecard to call her father. I gave it to them warning that there might not be enough money. After which, I went to the gents. When I stepped out, was so shocked to see the cost of the phone call tickling so fast!!! nvm....I was kind.
They asked for a place to eat and explained their situation. Stating that they were mainland tourists and were stuck at Buona Vista (what the hell!), and had no money with them (tourists? no money?) but only a visa card for use in China. I was stupid okay! Then they asked for places to eat and requested my guide. Along the way, they persisted on asking for my mobile number so as to return the money another day or make a new friend and began questioning about my family. I was extremely coy about telling any details...and I was adamant on NOT giving them my mobile number!.....(At least, I was not too all stupid!)
Upon the hawker centre, they told me that they were from Nanjing so they did not mind hot food as they was only the Malay store opened. So they ordered a Nasi Goreng and a Mee Soto with two cans of coke. Then they wanted more, another plate of Nasi Goreng...I thought she sounded rude to the Malay aunt and felt something was terribly amiss....(now, then i realise). I gave them an extra $2.50 for a journey back to the airport....and left hurriedly. The worst thing is! One had the cheek to ask if they could stay over at my place as they had to wait for their father......Thank God for the Bible which had a phrase that goes something like this........."never invite strangers to your home for they will cause trouble and pain.........." I rejected saying that my home is very small.......urgh! and ran off...............they still continued to ask my number! urgh.....
I am stupid and gullible right? Right?
A few points to think about;
1) Tell them to go police station! (safest!)
2) They had no luggage.....nothing! Just two puny bags! What tourists!
3) The dyed their hair with make-up....how poor can they be?!
4) Tourist? Just a China Visa Card? How to be a tourist?
Enough said. I was gullible and stupid.....urgh! I feel hurt, someone toyed my kindness.
