Watched "The Soong Dynasty" for the fourth time yeterday night till two in the morning. Was a three hour show. Quite surprised that I still find the show extremely interesting and the dialogues refreshing, despite the fact that it is my fourth time viewing it. Apart from trying to protray the characteristics of each of the Soong Sisters, the show actually managed to depict the internal and external struggle in China before 1949 very well.
Stability is the key word in the governance of China today. Throughout, China's history, dynasty after dynasty were brought down by internal rebellions. Thus, stability is like the mother of all further developments.
Looking back, right here at home. It was never a smooth journey for Singapore to gain independence and become a sovereign sate. There were loads of internal and external problems as well. Given its unique and vulnerable small island state, stability is even more important here. Just a little misunderstanding, dire consequences might result. This explain the tough and strict laws governing our country today.
Often, people do complain about the so-called "Strange" laws here. In fact, without an iron fist and determination on many matters, it will not become what it is today, given such a short span of time. It really takes time to mature and reflect.
Is tough to become independent, the same for individuals as well.
Time for TV. good night.
PS: Do not ask me why I typed this, I do not know it myself as well.
