Now that the curtains are finally down, is time to bring a closure to my participation in OT in this special space. I shall try to recall how it all started. Not too long ago, I auditioned for whatever possible in the musical but was rejected unfortunately. I guess I sang the wrong song and don't ask which I sang! Anyway, roughly around July, pseudo-brudder told me they needed male chorus members. Well, it is once in a lifetime thing so I tried again. I guess they don't have much of a choice and took me in.
Then there was intensive singing and dancing sessions. I am a bad dancer, really. I think I can hardly co-ordinate my hands and legs together, or even barely try to remember steps. But I think I did pretty well for the musical itself, at least I got 80% of the steps right and I am glad. It was towards the later part that I got the role as a professor. Later part will mean like VERY late part. Anyway, though 5 lines, I very much loved my role. Even got myself accessories for it and made use of my accent. haha! I guess it was all good old fun and I really enjoyed those mingling scenes we had. You know, pretend to mingle but actually chatting..haha..
What about the people? As I am typing this, I am already missing every single folk in the production. The cast was simply great, we sticked to each other closely and worked very well. The prayer sessions before each show always touched me very much. Everyone was very real and we had no problems working together. Met great people along the way and I really hope we can keep in touch. I really do miss them and now that rehearsals are over, so is the whole production, we will venture our own paths and perhaps meet 10 years down the road to sing the Reunion Song. Actually, to my disbelief, the very last "We used to Dream song", I actually cried. Yup! It was our last show, and with the sad melody and thinking of everyone, I just couldn't control myself. Hope the audience didn't notice. To add on, everyone not only the cast worked well miraculously. From the costumes people to props to sounds and lighting, to music and dance. We just put our differences aside and worked for a common goal, I guess that is the very essence of the medicine spirit as well as the OT spirit.
Not to forget all those who have supported me even though I play a very minor role. Especially the 00S12 people who came down to watch the show as well as the OMG!
I really do miss the folks in the production. Someday, somewhere, we will meet again, surely. Perhaps, for yet another production or as future colleagues.
We have walked down many roads, But now we're back where it starts, And we want to see if everyone's the same. Old friends, new love, new dreams, that live in these same old hearts, and we want to see if everyone's the same.
See you people! I am glad all of you had coloured my memory and I will definitely treasure the memories.
