Was watching a TVB drama serial "Tin Nga Hup Yi". Do not worry about the cantonese name for I do not know the English name. Anyway, it is about this group of medical health professionals going to Kenya to assist in humanitarian aid. Teamed under Life Force they go all out to good to everyone in that village. There were all sorts of moments captured. Ranging from heart wrenching ones to touching ones to joyous ones.
Sort of remind me of myself always wanting to take part in such an organisation a.k.a Medecins Sans Frontieres or 无国界医生 for a few years upon graduation. Oh well, along the way, I have also heard and read many others who are planning to do the same. I am sure the willingness is genuine but whether there will be active participation is another thing.
I am sure many before us had similar aspirations and hope. But, you just don't happen to see people receiving Young Peoples' Awards or Commendation Awards in swarms. Each year only 1 or 2 get such an honour. I know the goal of many to join such organisations is not for the honour. But, if participation in such unique organisations is not rare, then there would not be such honours to begin with. Right? Besides, these organisations are still seriously in need of manpower. So where have all the hopes and aspirations gone to? Where have the genuine willingness gone to?
Gone with the stress? Gone with the lethargy? Gone with the money? Or gone with greed?
Not trying to put down the hopes of myself and the many who do share the same.
But sometimes, reality and circumstances is just plain awful.
A friend, Z just came back from YEP Cambodia and seriously, I think he has grown.
