Not too long ago the music awards in Hongkong was plagued by investigations by the ICAC. I guess this year's awards (which awards 2004 works) was supposed to be exceptionally clean. Somehow, you will still see bad press splattered everywhere. Readership I suppose?
So who is the biggest winner this year? It must be Joey Yung who is undoubtedly one of my favourite singers together with Miriam Yeung, Eason Chan and Edmund Leung. Oh well, Joey managed to garner over 20 awards in 4 music awards and even landed herself on the Grand Award which in previous years has been awarded to Andy Lau. Though I seriously support her but I find it rather surprising for her songs in 2004 were not of extreme exceptional quality. In fact, Miriam produced an astonishing song that got her most of the Best Music Awards.
Now, back to the bad press. It has been rumoured for so long that Joey and Miriam are arch rivals. Oh no! How can I support arch rivals at the same time? Which side should I stand when I welcome them as they stroll along the red carpet? Okay! That is not the main point. The main point is that most of the bad press goes to Joey and not Miriam. How complicated? The industry? Even with votes and everything, it still seem pretty much controlled by the major companies.
As for dressing wise. Thanks TH for highlighting to me that Joey had a World Wrestling Entertainment belt around her. A sign of her winnings I suppose? She must have felt like a WWE champion! Must have wrestled her way through to get the awards. But, it was atrociously placed on a straw like waist. Um...Fashion?
Don't get me wrong! With all this ramblings I do still very much support the both of them. The press shall not sway me! They shall not!
