Snapping pictures happily when the worst thing that can happen happened! My camera went out of batteries! Glad that the model I use make use of not 4, not 3 but just 2 trustworthy AA size batteries! I mean, you can get AA size batteries everywhere! 7-eleven, Watsons, or even your closest Mama shop. Oh well, so I decided to venture into Watsons to save my camera and not to spare a single shot of photo.
Saw this group of AA size batteries with gigantic display as Extra Strong Duty. Prices, the cheapest amongst all and free 8 batteries included! I mean, I buy 2, I get 10 ! Isn't that great? Guess what, it has an added bonus of being Made in Singapore! The ever strong and free nation made home! So what could go wrong?
Made the purchase as quickly as I could and dashed out to continue my photo taking frenzy. The first picture was great! Fantastic! Subsequently, my camera shuts off automatically even before the second picture is taken. Alright, maybe my camera is not working well. I mean, who will ever have doubts about Made in Singapore products? The company must have won tonnes of ISO9000, Quality awards, Promising brands and what not to have made it here!
But I was wrong.
I used up all 10 batteries just to take 5 pictures. That will mean that 2 batteries for one photo. I was devastated. In the end, I got 2 separate sets of Made in USA and Made in Japan batteries though slightly, I emphasise the word slightly, more expensive, I am still taking pictures after 20 shots. And! Is just the first set of batteries. Note that there is nothing EXTRA written in the casing.
