Cinematographically not great. Talking about the legendary Macedonian king Alexander the movie here. With my absolute zero knowledge on Greek History and blah, I ventured into the theatre of the Alexander armed with only a secondary school classmate.
I confess it was my first punctual show but even so, I left the theatre of the Alexander without knowing what is going on and now suffering from a slight tinge of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Why?
Fit to its theme, names were in beautiful Greek language which I am not an expert in. At least for Shutter, though in Thai, names were simplified to Jane, Jai, Lupon or something. But, in this particular Greek show with only Chinese subtitltes, names were extremely hard to digest which ranges from Hephaestion, Popuslonmeota, Dimiulethamnam and the list goes on.
Not to forget that the although the old man tried very hard to explain the ongoings of history as well as the relations of characters, he often explains them when he climbs up or down the stairs and moving here and there. He was breathless, I must say. Worse still, he explains the crux in one liners. So if you happen to count his respiratory rate, you miss the crux of the story!
Oh! Here is the exciting part. No, not the war, not when the elephants attack the horses from India! Talking about the wide range of artistic scenes suitable for people of all genre. Be it, guys or girls. Oh well, I am talking about a M18 show here which is left uncut. I did not know it was uncut and now I am suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)!
Go catch it if you are keen on the artistically stimulating parts.
