Watched the debate on CNA. Was really good, very fiery and spontaneous. The topic was "The family is more important than the career". NUS took the proposition and UMacau took the opposition. The focus of NUS was mainly statistical. They bring out the facts, and start hammering the opposition. It is really like a miniature show of how Singapore in reality deal with things, facts...facts...facts. Which is good in a sense. UMacau, on the other hand was more on definitions. Define, this, that and why? It was really a close fight, with UMacau losing only one meagre point to NUS. So now, NUS moves on to the next round.
Hmm.....wore shorts and sandals to work, and then get changed there. Was really raining cats and dogs, so decided to wear something light so that I will not be stuck in wet clothes and shoes. Is really a first. But, the first does not prove to be very auspicious. Work was bad today. Somehow, the upper ground does not seem to comprehend the sentiments on the lower ground. And yet, when I asked for upper ground to define and paint a better picture of the present situation, everything is back to square one. "It is a problem. A problem that cannot be solved since the first day I came." That was the only reply.....hmm......how interesting is that. Gave a few proposals but kept hearing the same reply repeating over and over again.
Nevermind, a handful more months to go.
Tomorrow! Tomorrow will be The Hong Kong Baptist University versus University of Malaya. Same time, same channel. Realised that the debaters today and yesterday were mostly PRC students representing the various universities, wonder will it be the same tomorrow? hmm......
