Noite!~ ^o^

I could not sleep the whole of last night. The haunting images of the brutal acts by this guy portrayed on TV (True Courage) was really a horror. I guess I can never see a real horror movie when I cannot even sleep after watching a non-PG show! It must have been very very painful.....don't really know why someone would have done such evil acts in reality. What was the driving force?

Schizophrenia. It is supposed to affect only 1% of the population. However, I have met at least a handful of people diagnosed with it. Really feel that it is a very sad illness. The patient himself/herself would not have known that he/she is sick. The parents would be so sad and have to go through lots of emotional support and education. The patient has to be on medication for a very very long period of time to prevent relapse. It is not guaranteed 100% cure, in fact in most cases, they will not be able to function like how they used to in their pre-mobid status. The society as a whole is also not very receptive on such illnesses and they tend to shun it, or completely ignore the presence of it. hai!~

Some things are just inevitable. It will still happen.

But, we have to be optimistic, as there is always hope and a silver lining in the sky. Without the optimism, it will be total darkness.

The debate yesterday between Melbourne and Shih Hsih was stunning! Felt that both teams were able to convince the audience very well. The semi-finals of group A, NUS versus Sun Yat Sen University was not quite bad, at times funny, felt that it was really a tough fight as well. A friend commented that they should not have named it International-Varisty Competition but, PRC Competition, cos most participants are PRC nationals. Well, I guess it is alright for them to represent the respective international varsities, is their schools!

hmm....guess, is time to sleep again! haha.....nitez!
