1650 hrs, the radio is still functioning rather well at my workplace. Everyone was doing their own stuff, trying hard to clear them and prepare to go home. So, it was peace and monotony as usual. The strange thing is, when the reporter switched the topic to the press conference on the suspected SARS case here, everyone paused......I turned the volume louder and heard the following,
"The suspected SARS cases reported yesterday has undergone further investigations and tests today. The results show that he is tested positive for SARS. This is the first SARS case here after WHO announced that SARS is well under control in June."
Everyone looked rather sad......but hellO! we were all preparing to go home.....so hahaha....home first. Realised one thing is that, everyone washed their hands before they left! WOW!!! I hope this practice will continue even though there is no SARS.......hmm.....
But fear not la, I believe Singapore is able to handle it well! hehe...besides, I believe the authorities and guess it is just an independent case that poped out of nowhere......hmm......right?
I was kind of annoyed when I read somewhere today which mentioned that the patient has never been to China or Hongkong......I mean, these two places were not the only SARS affected areas......Toronto and Taiwan were affected as well. I mean, they should have mentioned that the person did not visit any SARS-affected areas instead of specifically pin-pointing China or Hongkong. Is just unfair! urgh!
By the way, this probable case is not classified as one by the WHO. Guess, to hear this piece of news is a relief!~ hehe
