yo!

So glad that I was able to wake up in the morning today (normally i wake up in the afternoon on weekends...hehe) and received an early sms to go and eat some buffet at some restaurant at Orchard. Was hesistant initially as usual and decided not to go. We were supposed to meet at 11. After some thought, was thinking....might as well la! So went and reached at 1230. Alright, as usual I am late....but i called this time to say roughly what time I will reach. Hehe.

Had HK Dim Sum and some dishes that is kind of nice. Really ate a lot cos I did not eat breakfast....took it as brunch. One of my frens ate like 9 Egg Tarts, 4 Bowls of Chinese Herbal Soup and 3 Bowls of desserts and nothing else.....in the end, he ended up having a diarrhoea and vomitted as well. Hai!~ Who would eat 9 egg tarts? I mean....i know it is a buffet...but.....there are other things to eat!

Went to Borders and Kino, was glad to find out that Borders had 15% off all items due to National Day. Was thinking that Kino would have the same offer and it has Chinese books...so decided to walk over before making any decisions. Sadly, NO...there were no offer at Kino. Nevermind, stayed on and read a few pages of a book translated to Chinese by a Japanese Author called "I Don't Want to Get Married" . Is about this guy who lives in a traditional Japanese society and there is this unsaid rule that guys must get married by 35 and women by 29. If not, you have to face dire consequences....I was like thinking...what kind of consequences? Actually, sort of feel that I will end up like the author....haha...

In the end, we went back to Borders and my friend bought a book for over 70 dollars!! I was so shocked to see the price and that a book can be so expensive! Alright, a little swaku here...but I mean....books are like so expensive nowadays! Glad that there is a library within each neighbourhood's reach....hehe
As for me, I did not buy a single book.....hmm...this is in fact my 6th outing shopping for books and in the end, end up empty handed. haha.....

Took 16 and was preparing to head for home....Alright, you may think that this is the end of the story.....no...it is not. The bus just happened to stop by near the Istana for a very long time and we saw a huge crowd....just remembered that it was National Day Open House....and so we alighted the bus and went in and see. The Istana is really huge...most of its area is occupied by huge gardens, ponds and a golf course. Paid $6 altogether for a book, for a collar pin and then for the admission fee to the Istana Building. Well, all the money will end up in Community Chest......so it was alright. Istana was really nice....no photography allowed....could feel the sense of dignity and a nation's pride! Only managed to see 3 of the dunno how many rooms in it but am already totally impressed by this symbol of my country.

Had a really action-packed day I guess.....hmm.....finally...i am out on a Sunday! haha!
